Cowboy Church of Tarrant County
Ronn McCoy has been a part of the cowboy church for two years. He says, "I've been in the traditional church system for many years, I first became aware of cowboy churches a few years back. I could hardly wait to participate and contribute in this kind of worship. I am not a full fledged cowboy that many attend are, but I feel grounded in the western heritage lifestyle".
Ronn has a background in country music and recently recorded his first country gospel album. His second is in progress and hopes to have it finished in November 2010. Ronn is also a volunteer in the Texas Prison Ministries. Ronn goes to Retirement Centers, Truck Stops, Street Ministries, and other Churches. He is a song writer at heart, and thanks God for the message within his songs.

Heather Thomas June 27th, 2010

Heather Thomas has loved music since she was a little girl. Although she was saved in her teens, it wasn’t until she was a young mother that God began calling her to step forward and sing for Him. Heather was with the popular ladies’ trio “Hearts to Him” for 10 years, and with the group “Rejoice” for 12 years prior. She has now stepped out in faith & is singing on her own. Heather has also been active in jail and prison ministry since the year 2000. Her first solo project entitled “My Heart Alone” was released in 2009 & is available for a donation to her ministry.
Heather resides in Millsap, TX on a farm where she raises Angus show cattle. After several life-changing events, she clings to one of her favorite sayings: If it won’t matter in a thousand years, it probably doesn’t matter now. Look and live for things eternal.”

Country Cross Roads Gospel Band- How we came up with our name. Sometimes you come to a cross road in your life. We pray that you choose the road that leads to the cross where Jesus died for our sins.
Proclaiming God's truth through songs, we feel the believer enters a unique place, a place where truth and beauty unite to inspire hope and faith. It is our prayer at all times that God uses Country Cross Roads Gospel Band as His voice (Isaiah 55: 11-12). Making every effort to communicate God's Holy Word through our music, we believe that His Word will not return to Him without accomplishing His purpose. We pray more than anything that lives are touched by the love of God through our music. We want to remember at all times the applause belongs to God. Thank You and God Bless You.
Isaiah 55:11 11 so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Steve Layne

The son of an Army sergeant major, Steve grew up in the Fort Hood/Killeen, Texas area. Through influences of pop and country music, as well as a stint in the marching band as a tuba player, musical diversity was inevitable. Steve gave his heart to the Lord at the age of nine, and participated in church events including the youth choir.
Playing his first gig as a professional at fourteen and forming a succession of bands, he went on to become bassist for Texas country artist Gary P. Nunn, followed by eleven years as upright bassist for country-blues guitarist Junior Brown. In 2005 Steve began to play with Texas singer-songwriter Larry Joe Taylor, and continues to play with him on a semi-regular basis, and can also be heard backing the talented singer Brent Van Sickle and his orchestra. In recent years Steve has performed as a solo acoustic artist, enjoying the opportunity to take center stage and sing his favorites!
Other artists Steve has performed and/or recorded with are Richard Leigh (“Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue”), Susan Gibson (“Wide Open Spaces”), Keith Sykes (“Volcano”), Joe Ely (“Me and Billy The Kid”), and Michael Hearne (“New Mexico Rain”). He had the privilege of recording a song with the late great Hank Thompson in the late 90’s. He has played onstage with Willie Nelson, Alan Jackson, Marty Stuart, Gatemouth Brown, Ricky Skaggs, and Steve Holley of Paul McCartney & Wings. In 1996 a video Steve acted and performed in was voted CMA Video of the Year (Junior Brown’s “My Wife Thinks You’re Dead”), and in 1995 he performed on a Grammy-nominated record. He has recorded on over a dozen albums, six of which were major label productions. Television appearances include Conan O’Brien , Good Morning America, and Austin City Limits , all as bassist for Junior Brown.
